ABOUT

Songwriting has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old. I write to process, to engage, to feel. Music is more than just expression for me; it is how I cope with life, how I endure the hard times, and how I remember the good ones.

Growing up in Kansas City, I wasn’t naturally immersed in music culture. I formed that culture at a young age with friends who were passionate about music and songwriting. We formed bands and tried to leave our mark on the industry with our garage-band-style rock music. As is often the case, our music never amounted to anything, but it was very formative for my musical journey.

As friends gave up on the music one by one, I continued; not to find fame, but because I couldn’t imagine my life without music. I pressed on and began to produce and mix my own music. I found myself in Nashville interning for the incredible producer and songwriter Ed Cash. Returning to Kansas City, I decided to hit the ground running. I began to take my home studio much more seriously, and began producing and writing for others, as well as continuing to do the same for myself.
